A Reason to Visit...

The Pleasant View Church of Christ has for many decades been a staple in the community of Pleasant View, Tennessee. It has worked in this community those many years to insure its citizens have the opportunity to hear and know the soul-saving message of Jesus Christ. While the Pleasant View congregation dates to many decades ago, the church of Christ dates to many centuries ago, A.D. 33 to be exact. It was established on the first Pentecost after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as was prophesied in the Old Testament (Isaiah 2:2-3) and recorded in the New Testament (Acts 2). It is God's institution (1 Cor. 1:2); the body of Christ (Col. 1:18,24); God's kingdom (John 3:5); the house of God (1 Tim. 3:15); God's temple (1 Cor. 3:16); and God's dwelling place (Eph. 2:19-22).

It is in Christ where salvation is found (Acts 4:12), therefore in the body of Christ (Eph. 5:23); therefore in the church of Christ (Eph. 5:22-32). It is not a denomination among denominations, but is undenominational and predenominational. Its plea is to call Bible things by Bible names, and do Bible things in Bible ways. The strictest respect is shown to the Bible as the verbally inspired, inerrant, and soul saving word of God (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Rom. 1:16), and never will we add to or take away from the holy scriptures which God has lovingly provided (Rev. 22:18-19). Rather, the Bible will be taught allowing it to interpret itself, realizing that God has provided all things that pertain unto life and godliness (2 Pet 1:3) and that He has preserved them in a way that we may know them and apply them (1 John 5:13).
